This week, aerial operations were characterized by two majors events : the first flights of the two MiG-23BNs refurbished by engineers and mechanicians of the LNA (Libyan National Army) Air Force and the bombing by LD (Libya Dawn) Air Force MiG-23MLDs of LNA forces near Zillah.
On 1st May, a Mirage F1ED belonging to LD Air Force targeted the west gate of Sirte and hit the checkpoint while LNA Air Force helicopters targeted a gathering of mechanics belonging to Abu Salim battalion in Sidi Aziz area, near Derna, destroying two.
On 3rd May, while LNA forces based in Zallah was reportedly come under attack by forces led by Zaid Bala'am through Jufrah (Misrata allied forces), the LDAF MiG-23MLDs, deployed to Al-Jufrah airbase one week before, took off and targeted LNA forces near Zillah.
According.to local report, airstrikes were also performed on ISIS positions on the Ouagadougou center near Sirte.
On 5th May, LNA AF fighter jets carried out a series of air raids on several different targets of ISIS and its allies, in Qnfodh targeted by MiG-21s, individuals and mechanisms in Rulrhh area targeted by Mig 23ML, while the Mi-17s of the Thunder team performed four air raids in Qnfodh area and Ganfuda, south-west Benghazi. The two MiG-23BN bombers also implemented several test flights in preparation of combat missions.
The same day, clashes took place between Fajr Libya and ISIS near Abu Grein 80 km south of Misrata. At least one Mirage F1EDs was engaged to performed CAS (Close Air Support). A total of nine sorties were performed by aircrafts from Misrata.
On 6th May, Many air raids on ISIS in Sirte were carried out by MiG-23s and Mirage F1ED from Misrata Air Force Academy.
